SUMMARY:2016 NCDHM "Sugar Wars" Contest
DESCRIPTION:In recognition of  American Dental Association’s 2016 National Children’s Dental Health Month Campaign themed “Sugar Wars”\, the Harrisburg Area Dental Society (HADS) will be sponsoring a social media photo contest running Feb. 1\,2016 to Feb. 19\, 2016 as a way to promote the ADA “Sugar Wars” theme.  Focused on promoting good oral health habits\, the contest encourages parents to show their kids battling the fight against the Sweet Tooth Invaders by posting a photo of their child brushing their teeth to the HADS Facebook page using #smilehbg Five random winning photos will be chosen on Feb. 22\, 2016. Each winner will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card! \n \nSharing is Caring when it comes to the children’s oral health. This presentation will address the primary considerations every dentist must understand regarding stable joints\, muscles\, parafunction\, and occlusion.\nP.M.\nDentistry and whole health go together. The oral/systemic connection\, sleep apnea\, nutrition\, physical activity\, and stress all affect the whole body. We will discuss the critical role of Dentistry in the future of the health of both our patients and nation. All participants will understand a business model for integrating whole health into the dental practice. \nTHE SPEAKER \nDr. DeWitt Wilkerson was a 1982 graduate of the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry\, the year he joined the Dawson group practice in St. Petersburg\, Florida.\nDr. Wilkerson is a senior lecturer at the Dawson Academy. He is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists\, Past President of the American Equilibration Society(AES)\, an active member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry\, serves on the Board of Directors of the American\nAcademy for Oral Systemic Health(AAOSH)\, and numerous other professional organizations.\nHe serves as an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program\, University of Florida College of Dentistry.\nDr. Wilkerson lectures extensively nationally and internationally on the subjects of Restorative Dentistry\, Occlusion\, Masticatory System Disorders\, Dental Sleep Medicine\, and Dental Medicine.
