COURSE DESCRIPTION

Each step of endodontically treating and restoring a tooth is connected. This course walks through each step of root canal therapy- with each building on the success of the previous phase. From diagnostic protocol through coronal restoration, learn techniques for clinical success at every step needed to take the patient out of pain, restore function to the tooth while maintaining the proper aesthetic, and enhance long term success. 

Learning Modules:

• Diagnosis and Treatment Planning- a complete understanding of the factors of each case.
• Endodontic Access- Creating a proper access cavity is critical
• Antibacterial Dressings-Inter-appointment medicaments and temporizing teeth.
• Shaping Utilizing the Most Advanced File Technology Choices for imparting an appropriate shape to the canal.
• Irrigation-importance of removal of infection-causing bacteria
• Obturation- Pros and Cons of sealers and obturation techniques
• Coronal restoration of the Endodontically Treated Tooth Choosing between direct vs. indirect restoration.

THE SPEAKER

Dr. McGrew has limited his practice to the specialty of endodontics for the past 20 years.  He attended the West Virginia University School of Dentistry for both dental school and post-graduate endodontic residency where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1995 and his Master’s Degree in Endodontics in 1997. Dr. McGrew is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Dr. McGrew holds active memberships with the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the South Carolina Dental Association. Following his passion for education in endodontics, he lectures throughout the United States and is a Key Opinion Leader in endodontics for DENTSPLY Sirona.

Outside of practicing endodontics, Dr. McGrew enjoys spending time with his wife Sherri and their four children Isaiah, Hannah, Micah and Selah. They are a boating family that enjoys fishing and exploring the shores of the low country. The McGrew family also enjoys traveling and experiencing new places and meeting new people.
