Course Title – Modern Pediatrics

Course Description –

A series of multiple small lectures covering Modern Advancements in Pediatric Dentistry that allow for a better experience for patients and parents in the dental office.
● First section will cover overall advancements including laser therapies such as Photobiomodulation and CO2 Lasers, Updated Behavior Management Techniques
including Sedations, Minimally Invasive and alternative techniques, Frenum and Lip Tie Releases, Myofunctional Therapy, Trauma and Atraumatic Techniques.
● Second Section will focus on the usage of Convergent Dental’s Solea Laser Application and patient experience.
● Third section will focus the usage and protocols of alternative treatment and atraumatic techniques that dentists can perform daily to aid our pediatric population
● Fourth Section will focus on pediatric trauma and referral options that general dentists have with the Greater Harrisburg’s Pediatric Dental Specialists.

Speaker Info –

Dr. William Buis is 4 years into Private Practice at Advanced Pediatric Dentistry after graduating residency at NYU Langone Hospitals Pediatric Dental Residency in Tucson, Arizona. He practices as a Key Opinions Leader with Convergent Dental’s Solea Laser and uses laser therapy treating all of his pediatric patients. Utilizing modern techniques and therapy dogs, his goal is to create a positive experience for young children until they can transition into general offices. He works as adjunct faculty in HACC’s EFDA
Program and is currently on the PDA’s New Dentist Committee. Dr. Buis completed Dental School at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was actively involved in pediatric community outreach and served as a LECOM representative at local, state and national events for the American Student Dental Association. In his free time he enjoys outdoor sports, video games, activities on his family’s farm and spending time with his golden retrievers Calibur and Quinn.
